This week, the House is scheduled to begin legislative business on Monday, July 23rd. Scheduled for consideration is legislation relating to aviation safety, transparency at the Federal Reserve, small business, and more. On Tuesday, July 24th, the Subcommittee on Early Childhood and Elementary and Secondary Education will hold a hearing regarding alternative teacher certification and Rep. Biggert will chair a hearing of the Subcommittee on Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity to discuss the impact of the Dodd-Frank insurance regulations on consumers, job creators and the economy. On Wednesday, July 25th, the Financial Services Committee will receive an annual report from Treasury Secretary Geithner and the Space, Science and Technology Committee will hold a hearing on drought forecasting. On Thursday, July 26th, the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises will hold a hearing on the 10th anniversary of the Sarbanes-Oxely Act and the Energy and Environment Subcommittee will hold a hearing to review the Department of Energy Vehicle Tech Programs.
